Notes

1. The involvement of guest editors widens the editorial voice of CI, enabling the editorial team to explore horizons that may not be fully or regularly studied and debated through open submissions to the journal.

2. For each paper in a theme issue, we create a team of reviewers from three sources, specifically (1) reviewers nominated by the guest editor(s) and subsequently invited by the CI Editor‐in‐Chief; (2) reviewers from the CI pool of reviewers; and (3) reviewers from the CI editorial team.

3. A theme issue on an enduring issue in the field revisits in greater depth a topic of recurring importance in curriculum studies, in part to examine the contemporary manifestations of this issue and, in part and where relevant, to extend and recast our understanding of the issue.

4. “Viewpoint” refers to “a [new] place or position from which a view or prospect can be seen” ( The Canadian Oxford Dictionary), with [new] added to indicate that, in a CI theme issue, a place or position that is original or published for the first time in this document.

5. To build a foundation for theme issues as a regular feature in the journal, we have suspended the publication of our annual review issue for 2014 only.

6. These are provisional titles that may change at the time of publication.
