Abstract
A new borate buffered saline containing 0.1 per cent Ethylene diamine tetra‐acetic acid (EDTA), in a bottle with a jet nozzle dispenser, was tested for contamination after normal regular use by patients and in a consulting room. Only six per cent of the bottles containing the bacteriostatic saline showed contamination, compared with 35 per cent of bottles containing un preserved phosphate buffered saline in a previous identical trial.1
