Abstract
Optometry in Australia is regulated by legislation in each of its six states and two territories, with the result that there are eight optometrists registration acts. Different legislation again regulates optometry in New Zealand, making a total of nine registering authorities in Australia and New Zealand, each working under a different regulatory regime.
