ABSTRACT:
The myriad of environmental problems facing cities are described and analyzed. The magnitude of the environmental crisis is explored and its causes are identified. In order to remedy environmental problems, an integrated policy approach is required. The tradeoffs between economic development and environmental quality are examined and a strategy to overcome them is proposed.
