A proposed guide to Chinese art in European museums, libraries and collections

1 Jan Chapman Far Eastern Curator of the Chester Beatty Library and Gallery of Oriental Art in Dublin, whose collections of Chinese, Japanese and Tibetan art are still little known to art students. Has travelled extensively in the Far East and visited many Far Eastern collections in Europe and the United States in the course of research into rhinoceros horn carvings. Has published many articles on this subject and has completed the preparation of the first book on this theme. At present engaged in mounting a major travelling exhibition on the subject of Chinese silk.
