1. Born in 1939 at Seoul. B.A. in architectural engineering, Hangyang University, 1966. M.A. Hongik University, 1979. Completed Postgraduate studies at Tokyo University, 1981. Curator, Department of Fine Arts, National Museum of Korea, 1963–65. Carator, Seoul National University Museum, 1965–67. Since 1975 Head of Preservation Science, National Institute of Cultural Properties. His publications include The Roof‐tiles of Silla Dynasty, 1975 (in Korean); ‘L'architecture des palais et des portes de remparts de Corée’ in Revue de Corée, 7:4, 1975 and ‘Wooden Buildings in the early Yi Dynasty’ in Korean Old Building, No. 1, 1973.
