Building a Material Culture in Dubai

Abstract

Dubai's generic built environment provides both challenges and opportunities for the next generation of local designers and architects. At the College of Architecture, Art and Design at the American University of Sharjah, students begin to define possibilities for a new material culture through furniture design and fabrication.
