Abstract
We wish to correct an error in the estimate of the enrichment in Ar/N2 ratio in a near-surface layer reported on page 336. Although the text correctly states that the expected gravimetric gradient in Ar/N2 at 0 ◦C is 52 per meg per metre of elevation in the absence of turbulent mixing, the subsequent calculation used a value of 64 per meg m-1 (appropriate for-52 ◦Crather than 0 ◦C). The error is not significant to the conclusions, but is relevant if the calculations are to be duplicated.
