Abstract

Carbon/epoxy composite materials have been used in the upper stage structure of satellite launch vehicles from the view point of high specific strength and high specific modulus. This paper describes the outline of the payload attach fittings (PAF's), which have a carbon/epoxy composite structure, using a co-cure process.
