Abstract
Different Ru-based catalysts (K1–K7) were applied for the cross-metathesis of functionalized cycloolefins with propene, 1-butene, isobutene and 2-methyl-2-butene. Quantitative analysis of the products allowed a better understanding of the mechanism of the cross-metathesis. Effects of substitution pattern of the cycloolefins, alkenes and of the structure of catalyst was studied in some detail. Furthermore, these one-step cross-metathesis reactions open avenues toward compounds, which are commonly available via multi-step reactions only.
