Abstract
A new type of polyorganophosphazene, viz., poly(bis(3-acetylcoumarine-o-aminobenzoylhydrazone) phosphazene) (PAAP), was prepared by replacing the chlorine atoms of polydichlorophosphazene using 3-acetylcoumarin-o-aminobenzoylhydrazone (ACAB) as a nucleophile. ACAB was characterized by spectral and single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. PAAP was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), 1H- and 31P-NMR spectral data. Thermogravimetry (TGA) was used to investigate the thermal properties. Spectral data confirmed the formation of PAAP, while TGA showed polymer stability up to 210°C.
