Abstract
The acoustic emission (AE) method for the quality control of metallized plastic materials is proposed and evaluated. It is shown on the basis of laboratory investigations of metallized ABS-2020 plastic material that the AE method can be used to estimate the adhesion strength and to identify the optimum etching conditions of the plastic material. This method makes it possible to estimate the adhesion strength of metallized ABS-2020 plastic specimens of a wide variety of configurations.
