Abstract

This paper mainly discusses the optical transfer functions (OTF) of two lenses systems with different aberrations according to power distribution, which is calculated via vectorial Stratton-Chu diffraction integral combining with ray-tracing method. The results in the meridian plane are compared with that of Airy's pattern distribution, which has no aberration. We find that diffraction can affect the OTF distribution severely, which is a little different to the classic viewpoint in optics that the OTF is mainly decided by the central power distribution. This work is aimed to study the relations between the OTF and the aberrations of the lenses systems and to estimate the performances of the lenses imaging systems.
