MPI Based Parallel UTD with Analytical Methods to Determine Reflection Points on Cylinders and Cones

Abstract

In this paper, analytical formulations are deduced to determine reflection points on cylinders and cones, and even cylindercone systems. With these analytical formulations, a parallel UTD code is developed based on MPI using domain decomposition method. Since no data exchanging is needed during the calculation, the parallel code has a relatively ideal speedup. Numerical results show the efficiency of analytical ray-tracing techniques and the parallel code.
