Analysis of Waveguide Junction Circulators with Partial-Height Ferrite of Arbitrary Shape

Pages 203-220 | Published online: 03 Apr 2012

Abstract

The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) full wave analyses of several waveguide junction circulators with partial height ferrite of arbitrary shape, including partial-height ferrite post of triangular shape and ferrite sphere, are presented. The Y-junction circulator with a bend is also considered. A metal step impedance transformer, which is used in junction circulator to get broadband performance, is also considered in analysis. Calculation results are presented and compared with experimental results in references. Better agreement is found. In addition, some calculated results of several waveguide junction circulators with irregularly shaped ferrite are given first time in this paper for the engineers design reference.
