Reconfigurable Yagi Patch Array by Utilizing Odd-even-Mode Method

Pages 1725-1738 | Published online: 03 Apr 2012

Abstract

Odd-even-mode method is used to analyze the mutual characteristics of a two-element Yagi patch antenna. There are odd-mode and even-mode of a two-element Yagi patch antenna. When the operating frequency of the antenna is at the odd-mode frequency, the radiation pattern is a sum-pattern. When the operating frequency is at the even-mode frequency, the pattern is a difference-pattern. By utilizing this method, a pattern reconfigurable Yagi patch antenna is designed. Simulated and measured results are given.
