Abstract
A new method to improve the gain of waveguide array antenna with SRR structure is presented in this paper. The electromagnetic characteristics of SRR and waveguide array antenna with SRR structure are studied by using Ansoft HFSS 3D based on finite element method, which are also compared with those of conventional waveguide array antenna. The simulation and experiment results show that SRR structure can realize congregating the radiation energy, so the gain of the antenna is increased and the side lobe level is decreased, which improve the radiation characteristics of antenna array, effectively.
