Theoretical and Experimental Investigation on PCB Helix Antenna

Abstract

A method to modify the PCB helix frequency offset aroused by the irregular PCB shape and dielectric constant εr is proposed; then a broadband antenna design employing nonuniform pitch is introduced; finally a lossy transmission line model is presented to analyze antenna gain affected by the lossy PCB dielectric, the accuracy of the model is verified by comparison with results of a rigorous theory and experiment.
