Abstract

The phenomenon of variation caused by interactions between the electromagnetic field and the biologic system in modality, configuration, function and other aspects of different biologic levels is called the biological effect of electromagnetic field. The sterilization effects of the constant electromagnetic wave and the instant electromagnetic pulse acting on the edible sauce and the Chinese medical pills are introduced in the paper. The biologic thermal reaction and non-thermal reaction are studied from the dielectric peculiarity of microorganism, the ratio of penetrability to the ion and the voltage variation of the cell velum caused by exterior electromagnetic field. The sterilization effect of the constant electromagnetic wave is based on the biologic thermal reaction, while the instant electromagnetic pulse is based on the biologic non-thermal reaction. The steppingvelum voltag e of cells increase under the exterior electromagnetic field function, and the channels to K+ are open so that the cellular K+ will flow to outside. The voltage variation of the cell velum makes the channels to Ca2+ open which depend on the voltage. The exterior with bigger concentration get into the cell along the voltage grads, and then the cells die. The bigger the stepping velum voltage of cells is, the higher the death ratio of cells is.
