Abstract
In this paper, the prototype of Fabry-Perot resonator antenna with double-layer superstrate and ground plate fed by wideslot radiator described in is improved by adopting U-slotted patch to replace the wide-slot radiator for thinning the profile in structure, suppressing the sidelobe, and extending the frequency bandwidth; and then by employing high impedance surface as artificial magnetic conductor to replace the ground plate, which results in further reduction of the thickness of antenna, but relatively narrowing the bandwidth. The simulated and measured results are good agreement each other.
