Abstract
A design scheme of a triple band internal antenna is proposed for use in GSM900, DCS1800, and PCS1900 bands. The folding metal plates of the two branches are mounted on a dielectric-coated ground plane for size miniaturization and durability. For a wide-band operation, the return loss overlapping method is used by controlling the length of the metal branches. The return loss of the suggested antenna geometry was calculated by a commercial HFSS 9 simulator and the results are compared with measured return loss, which shows a good agreement between them. Gain and radiation pattern are also measured by the field measurement system in an anechoic chamber.
