Abstract
In this paper an ortho-mode transducer (OMT) working in millimeter wave band is researched to obtain good performance over broadband with compact size. To get precision calculation results, it is analyzed with finite element method (FEM) based on the weak form of Helmholtz' equation so as the complex structure can be simulated exactly. The computation results are compared to that of HFSS, and good agreement has been observed. Then the OMT is manufactured, and excellent performance shown in experimental results confirms the validity of analysis.
