Approximation Method for Reconstruction of 3-D Antenna Radiation Patterns

Abstract

An interpolation method for the approximation of three-dimensional (3-D) antenna radiation patterns from two cuts (vertical and horizontal) is presented in this paper. The absolute error for the proposed approximation method from the simulation results is analyzed for various types of antenna structures, including omni-directional and directive antennas. The performance of the method is compared against other existing extrapolation algorithms. The proposed method exhibits low approximation errors.
