Novel Microstrip Dual-mode Bandpass Filter using Isosceles Triangular Patch Resonator with Fractal-shaped Structure

Pages 1341-1351 | Published online: 03 Apr 2012

Abstract

In this paper, characteristics of triangular microstrip resonator are analyzed, and novel fractal-shaped bandpass filters with one isosceles triangular defected cell and double defected cells by using isosceles right-angled triangular resonator are proposed, and their filter performances are calculated, optimized and analyzed. Using etched fractal-shaped defection in patch, the filters are provided with a wide passband of about 1.48 GHz, and dual passband centered at 9.61 GHz and 12.013 GHz, and all have transmission zeros. The proposed filters have advantages such as simple and compact structures, small sizes, high selectivity and so on, and can be quite useful for future applications in wireless communication systems.
