A Modified Coplanar Monopole Antenna of Circular Disk with an Ultra Wide Bandwidth from 2.28∼38.2 GHz

Abstract

A simple coplanar monopole antenna of circular disk is proposed for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. Coplanar ground plane is slightly modified with an arc-shaped cut, so that an improved impedance bandwidth, especially at the higher frequencies is achieved. The measured return loss from 2.28∼38.2 GHz is below –10 dB and the measured radiation pattern is quasi omni-directional.
