A New Approach for Prediction of the Mutual Coupling Between Antennas on a Complex Platform

Abstract

Mutual coupling between antennas on a complex platform (e.g., battleplane, aerotransport) is successfully predicted by Cascade Equivalence Approach (CEA). Based on the Huygens' Principle and Equivalence Principle, the originally examined area is divided into three ones and results obtained in the first subarea are regarded as equivalent driving source for the next. The validity as well as efficiency of this approach are then verified by numerical examples. Finally, CEA is employed to solve the mutual coupling between two antennas on an electrically large fighter plane which is hardly solve by any other algorithm at current computer configuration.
