Exponential FDTD for Plasma Dispersive Medium

Pages 1165-1172 | Published online: 03 Apr 2012

Abstract

In this paper, exponential finite-difference time-domain (E-FDTD) method is applied for the calculation of plasma dispersive medium. The high efficiency and accuracy of this method is verified by calculating the reflection and transmission of the plane electromagnetic wave impinging on a plasma dispersive medium slab. The result of E-FDTD method is compared with exact result, auxiliary differential equation (ADE) and frequency-domain finite-difference time-domain ((FD)2TD) method. It proved the E-FDTD method has high efficiency and accuracy in plasma dispersive medium computing.
