Abstract

A medium power (∼ 1 kW) miniature klystrode is required for applications including radar, microwave heating, and plasma processing. An electron gun optical system for a miniature and magnet-less klystrode that operates in the X-band is presented. The electron gun consists of two grids that focus and control the beam optics. The characteristics of the electron beam including the cutoff and current values are predicted with electron gun code. Analysis results for multi-hole type grid structure are reported.
