Abstract

According to the UWB system for LDR communication, there are three types of signals such as impulse, chaos, and chirp proposed by IEEE WPAN TG4a. The UWB system using chaotic signal has an advantage of compact and simple architecture. However, a chaotic signal generator using analog feedback method is limited about mass-production in process variation. In this paper, quasi-chaotic signal generator using PN-sequence of digital structure was proposed. The quasi-chaotic signal generator that has bandwidth of 2 GHz with center frequency of 4 GHz using 0.18 μm CMOS process were designed and verified.
