Abstract

A miniature printed sleeve meander antenna used in tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is proposed in this paper. By using the meander structures including the radiation patch and ground plane, the antenna provides a degree of 78% miniaturization. Meanwhile, a L-shaped stub is loaded on the meander ground to improve the impedance bandwidth, thus a wide bandwidth of 24.2% (VSWR < 3.0) and 13.8% (VSWR < 2.0) for TPMS application is obtained. The antenna has good radiation pattern characteristic, and its performance is relatively stable. Design details of the proposed antenna and results of both simulations and experiments are presented and discussed.
