Abstract

The nonlinear couplers composed of two wedge plasmon waveguides covered with nonlinear material are analyzed. Under the condition of fixed length of the couplers (one coupling length), the output port of optical signal can be adjusted by changing the input power. The critical power of this nonlinear optical switch is very low. It can work at 1.25 μm ∼ 2 μm, and the critical power decreases with increase of work wavelength λ 0. The results are of great value for constructing subwavelength nonlinear devices.
