Abstract

In this paper, novel substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) trisection filters with flexible selectivity are proposed. By using source/load to replace a resonator of the conventional trisection filter, a transmission zero (TZ) in the lower or upper stopband can be created. Moreover, two transmission zeros can be obtained by introducing the mixed cross coupling. These two transmission zeros can be simultaneously placed above the passband, or one zero below and the other above the passband. Furthermore, more transmission zeros can be realized by cascading trisection filters with source/loadmultiresonator coupling. A SIW trisection filter is designed and fabricated for demonstration.
