Abstract
We use the superposition T-matrix method to compute the linear and circular depolarization ratios for randomly oriented spheroids with an equivalent-volume size parameter kreq = 10 and absorptive inclusions (black carbon). Peterson and Strom's method was used to compute the depolarization ratios for inhomogeneous particles, together with Mishchenko's orientation averaging procedure. The effects of the size, shape and location of the core are computed and analyzed for spheroid and sphere particle. From the results, we can see that light backscattering differences by spheroid particles has to be taken into account when an inner core exists.
