Abstract
We propose a new transmission-reflection method for reference-plane invariant constitutive parameters measurements of liquid materials sandwiched in between two identical low-loss plugs. A metric function has been derived for reference-plane invariant constitutive parameters measurements. The method works well in limited frequency-band applications or for dispersive materials since it is based on point-by-point (or frequency-by-frequency) extraction. We measured the complex permittivity of methanol sample by different methods for validation of the method.
