Abstract
A novel dual-band microstrip DC block is presented. Design formulas of dual-band DC blocks are derived in closed form. The evaluation chart is introduced, based on which the fabrication issues and design tradeoffs are analyzed graphically. Circuit simulations are performed to examine the frequency response. To verify the validity of the proposed dual-band DC block, a 1.85 G/3.45 GHz DC block is fabricated, whose measurement results show good agreement with the circuit and full-wave simulation results. The devised dual-band DC block exhibits good matches and very low insertion losses in operating bands, whose 0.5 dB-insertion-loss bandwidths reach 25% and 13% at 1.85 GHz and 3.45 GHz bands, respectively.
