Abstract
Bandwidth of the previously reported CPW-fed tapered slot antenna is enhanced by introducing triangular parasitic elements in the tapered region. The effect of the size and location of the parasitic element on the resonance and matching condition is examined. The proposed antenna is a single layer structure and has a bandwidth of 73% (corresponding to −10 dB reflection coefficient) with an average gain of almost 4 dBi over the entire bandwidth. The measurements of the fabricated antenna show good agreement with the simulation results.
