Abstract
A method is introduced for correcting antenna near field measurements taken in the presence of known probe position errors. The method is based on iterative correction of both the measured phase of the near field and the deduced far field. A key step is the derivation of a simple formula relating the rate of change of the near field phase with probe position to the far field pattern. It is demonstrated, by means of numerical examples, that probe position errors as high as λ/3; λ being the wavelength, can be corrected with high accuracy.
