Abstract

The problem of electromagnetic scattering by a three-dimensional aperture formed by a cavity in a ground plane is formulated via the equivalence principle and integral equation approach. The resulting coupled integral equations are solved via Galerkin's method using piecewise constant and piecewise linear surface basis functions. The numerical and analytical aspects of the implementation are discussed and some representative scattering patterns are presented for validation purposes.
