FDTD Characterization of the Indoor Propagation (Summary)

Pages 243-247 | Published online: 03 Apr 2012

Abstract

This paper outlines a simple and efficient method to deal with indoor channel for both transient and steady-state phenomenas. The transient phenomena, characterized by the channel impulse response, gives an evaluation of the bit rate limit. The steady-state condition is used to describe the signal coverage and space diversity. Based on the solution of Maxwell's equations using the Finite-Difference Time-domain (FDTD) and equivalence principle simulating the source pattern, the proposed method provides interesting prediction results of the radio channel.
