Mode Expansion Solution for Scattering By a Material Filled Rectangular Groove - Abstract

Pages 467-468 | Published online: 03 Apr 2012

Abstract

Efficient evaluation of scattering by a material filled rectangular groove in an infinite conducting plane is formulated by matching waveguide mode expansions on both sides of the aperture. The technique is based upon a special form of equivalence and is shown to provide accurate bistatic results, with minimal complexity and computational effort, over a wide range of illumination angles, filler materials and groove dimensions.
