Abstract
This article deals with a structural modeling approach to derive an equivalent circuit model of a digital PCB system level. The PCB is modeled as an assembly of electrical networks with input and output ports, linking together to form the complex equivalent circuit in SPICE formate. This integrated equivalent circuit is analyzed using a PSPICE circuit simulator where both time and frequency domain simulations can be performed. Such an analysis is useful to verify system performance in terms of signal integrity, noise margin and bandwidth under various signal patterns and biasing conditions during CAD layout process to reduce prototype design cycle time.
