Abstract
This paper addresses TVFEM analysis of periodic structures for radiation and scattering. The basic property of TVFEM basis spaces is utilized to impose the periodic boundary condition on the opposing walls. The PMLs are used to truncate the upper and bottom boundary of a single unit cell. Numerical results are presented and compared with results obtained using alternative methods, which demonstrate the validity, accuracy and versatility of the method.
