Abstract

This work investigates how to predict the attitudes of students with regard to integration at school and if they relate to mutual knowledge, to parents' and teachers' attitudes or to other variables. Over one thousand students from the area of Alicante (Spain) form the studied sample. Three factors are obtained from their answers to the questionnaire used to evaluate their attitudes: “negative prejudices”, “acceptance of the differences” and “willingness to interaction”. With the total scores of these factors a regression analysis is performed. This analysis highlights the relevant role of communication between parents and children in building attitudes in students oriented towards the integration in the classroom of pupils with special educative needs.
