Abstract

The aim of this work is to evaluate the adjustment and utility of Steven's Power Law applied to a bipolar adjectival scale of the kind associated with Osgood's Semantic Differential (Osgood, Suci & Tannebaum, 1957). That is, the utility of magnitude scaling versus category scaling to measure linguistic attitudes in Galician students (final-year primary school). In conclusion, the adjustment of Steven's Power Law is demonstrated, but not its superiority over category scaling.
