Algunas reflexiones sobre los “deberes tradicionales” desde la práctica del aula

Some reflections on “traditional homework” from a classroom's work perspective

Resumen

Este trabajo presenta un conjunto de reflexiones sobre los deberes escolares, surgidas a partir de una experiencia que se llevó a cabo durante un curso escolar en un aula de tercer curso de E.G.B., donde una de las autoras era la profesora habitual. El hecho de participar en la investigación contribuyó a que esta maestra fuera tomando conciencia de su propia práctica educativa. Se contrastan en el trabajo dos formas de aproximación a las tareas escolares en el hogar. Un primer modelo tradicional, en el que los deberes se consideran un apoyo a lo que se aprende en la escuela y otro, mucho más innovador, que la profesora va introduciendo mientras abandona progresivamen te el anterior, en este último el papel de la familia y la introducció n de situaciones significativas para los niños y las niñas van cobrando un peso cada vez mayor.

Abstract

This paper explores how homework was present in a third grade classroom when the teacher's ideas and practices changed as result of her participation in an etnographic research on homewok. Two didactic models of these activities are contrasted. The first one, considered as traditional, introduced homework as a support of the school tasks; the second one proposed innovative practices at the same time that the teacher changed her ideas about the children learning and the family's role at the school. Different examples of homework activities are presented and analyzed.
