Una experiencia de pintura expresiva y relajación con alumnos de necesidades educativas especiales

An expressive painting and relaxation workshop for children with special education needs

Resumen

La integración del alumnado con necesidades educativas especiales obliga a la escuela a una continua revisión y mejora de la respuesta educativa que ofrece. Considerando la necesidad de estos niños y niñas de mejorar su autoestima y de desarrollar estrategias moduladoras ante el estrés, se lleva a cabo esta experiencia de un Taller de Pintura Expresiva y Relajación en un centro público de Educación Infantil y Primaria. El artículo recoge la reflexión que dio origen a la implantación de este taller, describe su desarrollo y analiza los resultados obtenidos. Se concluye que la experiencia ha ofrecido nuevos cauces de expresión a los alumnos con N.E.E, logrando mejorar su motivación y su autoestima, y facilitando la adquisición de estrategias de autocontrol emocional.

Abstract

The school integrating students with special education needs is required to continuously evaluate and improve the educational response it offers them. An Expressive Painting and Relaxation Workshop was carried out in a Public Primary School in order to improve theses students' self-esteem and help them develop self-regulating strategies to cope with stress. The paper summarizes the rationale for setting up the workshop, describes it, and analyses the results obtained. It is concluded that the experience offered the children with special education needs new ways to express themselves. Thus helping them improve their motivation and self-esteem and facilitating the acquisition of emotional self-control strategies.
