Resumen

Este artículo introduce el dossier y presenta el resto de artículos que lo integran. Se argumenta la necesidad del estudio de la diversidad cultural para sustentar la práctica educativa en entornos multiculturales, y que esa labor se realice desde paradigmas propios de la Psicología de la educación. El dossier se compone de cuatro artículos elaborados por miembros del grupo de investigación en desarrollo humano, intervención social e interculturalidad de la UAB, y su contenido se elabora a partir de la investigación fundamentada en la práctica de la innovación educativa en entornos multiculturales y en riesgo de exclusión social. El análisis del tratamiento de la diversidad cultural en las escuelas europeas, la revisión de modelos teóricos de la Psicología en la explicación del desarrollo y la educación en relación a la cultura, un estudio sobre el discurso del profesorado sobre sus alumnos pertenecientes a grupos minoritarios, y al análisis de la apropiación por los maestros de una innovación educativa en este campo, son los temas abordados por los artículos del dossier y presentados en este texto.

Abstract

This paper introduces the dossier and presents the articles which integrate it. It argues for the need to study cultural diversity to support educational practice in multicultural environments, and why this work should be done from educational psychology paradigms. The dossier consists of four articles written by members of the research team for human development, social intervention and interculturality at the Autónoma University of Barcelona. Its content is drawn from research based on educational innovation practice in multicultural environments as well as those at risk of social exclusion. The topics presented in this text, an addressed by the articles in this dossier are: analysis of treatment of cultural diversity in European schools; review of psychology's theoretical models in explaining such diversity; a study on teachers' discourse about students from minority groups; and analysis of teachers' appropriation of an educational innovation in this field.
