Resumen

En este artículo la autora reflexiona, a partir de las críticas de Emilio Sánchez, sobre lo que considera las aportaciones fundamentales del lenguaje integrado. Quizás muchas de las críticas que este movimiento ha recibido desde la psicología proceden de que no siempre lo que se ha generado en las aulas puede ser justificado o comprendido desde el laboratorio. Se mantiene, por otra parte, que si bien los presupuestos que acepta el lenguaje integrado chocan con algunos de la psicología cognitiva, otros modelos pueden aportar una fundamentación teórica a muchas de las prácticas que adoptan los profesores y profesoras que trabajan asumiendo esa perspectiva.

Abstract

In this article the author reflects, starting from Emilio Sánchez's criticism, on what she considers the fundamental contributions of whole language. Maybe much of the criticism arosen in psychology by this movement comes from the fact that not always what has been generated in the classroom can be justified or understood in a laboratory. On the other hand, the belief is held that, even if the whole language's assumptions accepts clash with some of cognitive psychology's, other models could provide a theoretical foundation to much of the work carried out by teachers who work under that perspective.
