La Reforma desde la perspectiva sociocultural: ¿para qué queremos la escuela?

The Spanish educational reform under the sociocultural perspective: What do we want school for?

Resumen

El artículo analiza las tomas de postura que, con respecto a las funciones y objetivos de la educación escolar, adoptan la concepción constructivista del aprendizaje escolar y de la enseñanza -que sirve de marco de referencia psicológico a algunas de las opciones y propuestas básicas de la actual Reforma en marcha de nuestro sistema educativo-, y la perspectiva socio-cultural. Se argumenta que esas tomas de postura no sólo no resultan esencialmente contradictorias, sino que están estrechamente interrelacionadas y pueden colaborar y complementarse, al tiempo que desafiarse y enriquecerse mutuamente. A este respecto, se defiende que esa colaboración y enriquecimiento mutuos serán tanto más fructíferos cuanto más pasen no sólo por el contraste y el intercambio teórico sino también por las propuestas concretas de acción y transformación de la realidad.

Abstract

The article analyzes the attitude concerning school education's functions and goals taken by the constructivi st conception of school learning and teaching -which stands as a psychological reference frame to some of the basic options and suggestions of the current Reform which is being developed in our educative system-, and by the sociocultural perspective. It is claimed that these positions not only are not essentially contradictory, but are as well closely interrelated and can cooperate and complement each other, while still challenging and enriching each other. To this end, it is held that the mutual cooperation and enrichment will be all the more fruitful the more they go not only through theoretical contrast and exchange, but also through the specific action and reality's transformation.
