Número especial: Espacios urbanos y Sostenibilidad

Resumen

Se publica en este número especial una selección de los trabajos presentados en el XI Congreso de Psicología Ambiental (Almería, Febrero 2011). El Congreso ha girado en torno a dos ejes: Espacios urbanos y Sostenibilidad, pero lejos de pretender una división entre ambos, en la mayor parte de las investigaciones, como las aquí presentadas, estos ejes se superponen y complementan. Por otra parte, los artículos seleccionados para este número si bien difieren en las temáticas y metodologías utilizadas, coinciden todos ellos en contribuir y aportar soluciones desde el ámbito de la Psicología Ambiental al incremento del bienestar humano mediante el análisis de la interrelación de las personas con el ambiente (natural y/o urbano) que les rodea, lo que no es sino uno de los objetivos principales de la disciplina (Gifford, 2002).

Abstract

A selection of papers presented at the XI Congress of Environmental Psychology (Almería, February 2011) is published in this special issue. The Congress focused on two issues: Urban Environments and Sustainability. But rather than claiming a division between them, most of the research, including the papers presented here, views these two areas as overlapping and complementing one another. Moreover, the articles selected for this issue, although they may differ in terms of topics and methodologies, all contribute to and provide solutions from the field of Environmental Psychology in order to improve human welfare by analyzing the relationship of people with their surrounding environment (natural/urban), which is one of the primary objectives of the discipline (Gifford, 2002).
